PHYTASE PRODUCTION BY ASPERGILLUS NIGER AND A.TERREUSS. MOHAN., M. VIJAY ANTONY, P. KASINATHAN' AND N. THAJUDDIN
Submerged fermentation for the production of phytase by Aspergilhes user and Aserldies tareist under different growth condi bons was examined. Wheat bran at 27. was better subs. te then others. Addition of yeast extract resulted in maximum production at 0.5% concentration. Optimum pli was found to be 5.0 and room temperature provided superior enzyme yield. The effect nip)-) un.enzyme showed two distinct pl optima at 2.5 and at 5.5 and optimum temperature was 55 and 65 C for Aventine, nikon Aspergillus le7reue in that order. der Since the obtained phytase had shown feed pelleting thermostithihty at 70.C. The two fungi were taken as thembe. tolerant isolates.
