SEETHARAMAN AND M.A.Abstract The pre.spawning moult performance and their different development stages was observed in Caridina laerns from eggs to ha tchling in captive condition. Their ontogenic events were illustrated in two types (i) Embryonic development (zygote, cell division, formation of blastoderm, gastrulation and prior hatching.just hatched larvae). (ii) Larval development (after hatching, tiny larva and adult). Most of their ontogenic characters were more or less similar but slight morphological variance was noticed with earliest Observation by Nair (1949) in C.:Avis.
