Abstract

The removal of manganese ions from aqueous solutions by different waste material viz., Ipomea leaves, water hyacinth and fly ash was studied. Adsorption of the Mn2+ was affected by pH. Adsorption increases by decreasing pH. Adsorption also depends on contact time. The results were encouraging and up to 90% removal of manganese was obtained.
