REMOVAL OF MN2+ IONS BY IPOIVIEA LEAVES, WATER HYACINTH AND FLY ASHR.K. SRIVASTAVA, A.K. AYACHI AND VANDANA SEHGALAbstract The removal of manganese ions from aqueous solutions by different waste material viz., Ipomea leaves, water hyacinth and fly ash was studied. Adsorption of the Mn2+ was affected by pH. Adsorption increases by decreasing pH. Adsorption also depends on contact time. The results were encouraging and up to 90% removal of manganese was obtained.
