Abstract

Wheat is one of the most important cereal crop both in regard to its antiquity and its use as a source ofhuman food. It is a major staple food crop of the world. The experimental materials consisted of 36 genotypes(28 F1s + 8Parents) were sown in Randomized Block Design with 3 replications. The estimated values ofadditive genetic component (D ˆ) were significant for daysto 75% heading, But dominancevariance (1 H ˆ) wassignificant ear length (cm), no. of grainsear, 1000 grain weight (g), grain yield / plant (g). In the presentstudy, correlation coefficients for parents and F1s at phenotypic and genotypic levels among the grain yieldand other characters have been worked out. The grain yield per plant showed positive and highly significantassociation with no. of tillers per plant and 1000 grain weight.
