FAUNA AND ZOOGEOGRAPHY OF SCORPIONS (ARACHNIDA:SCORPIONS) IN MOROCCO

Abstract

A nationwide collection and identification campaign since February 2018, which includes 58 collectionstations and 12 identification foci in order to map and count scorpion species in Morocco. Scorpion faunaincludes nine gender and twenty-nine species of Buthidae, spread throughout the kingdom. Also, onegender and three species of Scorpionidae widespread beyond the northern half of Morocco. The scorpionfauna of Morocco is the most diverse in the south of Europe and the MENA area and rivals that of manyother countries.
