FRESHWATER CARIDEAN PRAWNS OF HIMAYATSAGAR AND OSMANSAGAR, HYDERABAD, INDIASudipta Mandal, Deepa J. and Pratap K. ReddyAbstract The study of Caridean Prawns from Himayatsagar and Osmansagar reveals the availability of six species belonging to two genera and two families. These two well-known man-made reservoirs are situated adjacent to the city of Hyderabad, Telangana. In this article, two new records of Caridean species are going to be reported first time from Telangana State, named Caridina jalihali Mariappan and Richard, 2006 and Caridina chauhani Chopra and Tiwari, 1949. |
