FIRST DATA ON THE DIVERSITY OF THE HERPETOFAUNA OF THE OUM EL BOUAGHI REGION (NORTHEAST OF ALGERIA)Y.I. Bezaz, R. Hadjab, H. Khammar, L. Redjaimia and M. SahebAbstract This study aims at providing the first faunistic and ecological data on the herpetofauna of the Oum El Bouaghi region. The observation period was spread over two seasons (2018-2019), from mid-March to the end of October. A total of 18 species of reptiles and 4 species of amphibians have been recorded. The data collected were analyzed in terms of the biogeographical and trophic aspects of the herpetofauna of the study area. The region of Oum El Bouaghi has a great herpetofaunistic diversity, which shows how important it is to ensure its protection. |
