S.D. Jadhav, N. V. Nikam and D.U. Gawai

Abstract

The germination of seed is one of the most critical and significant phase in the life cycle of crop plants. It is subjected to various types of environmental stresses and pathogen infection is one of them. Seed born fungi as well as bacteria present over the seed coat affect the early seedling stage of the plant which result decrease in the yield. It has been proved that plant sourced oil inhibits the fungal infection at seedling stage. plant sourced oil emulsions inhanced seed germination early seedling growth and vigour index at low concentration while decreased at higher concentration.
