CLIMATE CHANGE AND EMERGING INFECTIOUS DISEASES – A REVIEW TO ESTABLISH THE LINK

Abstract

Human beings are the most potent and essential resource of any nation and play a pivotal role in the development and sustained evolution of a civilized world. Climate Change, a recent phenomenon that hampers the smooth functioning of the normal aspects of living tends to have an impact on the health of human beings. Many diseases are known to affect the health of human beings, but Emerging infectious diseases have varied reasons of occurrence and resurgence. Though various research findings have to some extent been able to set up a baseline correlation, significant studies to model the exact cause and effect process of climate change impact on human health especially the relation between emerging infectious diseases and climate change needs much attention. An attempt has been made to analyse sensitivity of human diseases to changing climatic conditions, and find out if there is any significant impact of climate change on emerging infectious diseases through the review of works done by various researchers.
