Various anthropogenic and industrial activities can lead to a widespread chromium (Cr) contamination in soils and natural waters. This article highlights the problems arising due to improper disposal of the chromium waste in the industrial area of Bhilai city of Chhattisgarh state and the consequent translocation of the hexavalent chromium to the groundwater. This study focusing on the chemical and hydro geochemical aspects helps to create an understanding on the movement of chromium. |
