MACROPHYTE PRODUCTIVITY ASSESSMENT OF KHUMANPAT LAKE, MANIPUR, NORTHEAST INDIAK. KHELCHANDRA SING AND KHURAIJAM USHAAbstract The primary productivity of the macrophytes in Khumanpatlake indicated that Alternanthera philoxeroides recorded highest daily net primary productivity with values of 0.07 to 1.85 gâ2 dayâ1 followed by Echinochloa stagnina (0.08 to 1.76 gâ2 dayâ1), Ceratophyllum demersum (0.06 to 1.64gâ2 dayâ1), Eichhornia crassipe s (0.07 to 0.78 gâ2 dayâ1) and Hydrilla verticillata (0.03 to 0.56 gâ2 dayâ1) respectively. The daily net production of all species (combined) varied from 0.02 to 6.20 gâ2 dayâ1. The monthly net production of all species (combined) varied from 0.84 to 173.82 gâ2 monthâ1. The total annual net production of all species (combined) varied from 583.57 to 728.52 gâ2yrâ1. |
