Abstract

Nowadays, In view of the strict regulations concerning evacuated water, the emphasis is on the improved optimization of sewage wastewater treatment plants (wwtp), based on the extended predictive self-adaptive control (EPSAC) to control the concentration of dissolved oxygen (DO) in an aerobic reactor of a STEP. It contributes to minimizing economic costs by using minimal energy consumption, all in compliance with the legal provisions of the water quality of the effluents. To achieve this goal, the EPSAC non-linear control methodology will be applied to the biological wastewater treatment process using a microorganism culture in the presence of air or oxygen. Predictive control (EPSAC) (De Keyser 2003) of the model is applied to control the dissolved oxygen concentration. A simulation was performed by modifying the reference, constant or variable, around the operating point, the proposed control technique is effectively controlled by the DO level at the desired set points and compared by a PI. controller.
