APPROACH AND IMPACT OF PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS ON EMPLOYEES ECO-INITIATIVES

Abstract

The production activities of the humans have deteriorated the environment to a large extent. The industrial revolution has caused an irreversible damage to the environment. Before industrial revolution, it was believed that there is a balance of nature and there existed a harmony between the flora and fauna on earth. This balance is considered to be very delicate and it can be easily disturbed by the greedy activities of humans. The organizational activities are performed by the humans. So, the role of employees becomes very important and crucial for the organizations for their contribution in the activities related to the protection and improvement of the environment. The present study analyzes the impact of independent variables, namely biographical characteristics of employees with dependent variable (Employee eco-initiatives). The sample of the study consists of 500 employees of various selected small, medium and large industrial organizations of Punjab. The study highlighted the association and impact of biographical characteristics like age, gender, marital status, educational qualification, organizational level, and length of service in the organization on Employee eco-initiatives for the protection and improvement of environment etc.
